The Wounded Traveler

A wounded traveler lies among stones on a barren road, his torn garments darkened with dust and his ankle marked with blood. The low viewpoint places the viewer beside the injured man, emphasizing the vulnerability of the victim in Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan. In Luke 10, the beaten man on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho becomes the living test of neighbor-love: mercy is not defined by status or distance, but by costly compassion toward the one in need.
